Welcome Future Mason Graduates!
Graduation should be a time of excitement and possibility, not a time to feel burdened by another expense.
To offer some financial relief, George Mason has created the Gowns for Grads Program to make regalia available for our students who are unable to purchase regalia on their own. If you are a first-generation student, low income, Pell Grant recipient, or cannot afford regalia right now due to financial difficulties, then this program is for you!
Graduation should be a time to reflect and celebrate this amazing accomplishment! If you have any questions, please email [email protected].
Application Information
Gowns are borrowed on a first come, first served basis. We have a limited inventory, so make sure you apply early. While we try to provide students with the full regalia set, items will be provided as they are available (i.e. we have a limited number of hoods, cords, and tassels).
Application Timeline: March 16th - April 24th

Below are some tips on how to properly care for your gown:
- Upon receiving your gown, make sure to hang it up to allow for the wrinkles to fall out
- You can use a steamer to remove stubborn creases
- DO NOT use an iron as this will melt the fabric of the gown
- Spot clean or hand wash the gown in cold water should you find or create a stain
- DO NOT dry clean gowns
- DO NOT wash hoods; if a stain occurs hoods need to be dry cleaned
