Services

The Student Support and Advocacy Center offers support and resources to students facing a variety of challenges. Please see the links below for information and services offered in the following topic areas:

Basic Needs

The SSAC helps students struggling with basic needs insecurity, usually defined as difficulties in accessing food and/or housing.

Financial Well-Being

The Financial Well-Being Team aims support students in financial literacy. This includes, creating budgets, managing credit, understanding financial aid options, and applying for scholarships and grants.

Patriot Pantry

The Patriot Pantry provides access to non-perishable food and hygiene items to George Mason University students who are experiencing food insecurity.

Substance Use

The SSAC offers one-on-one support to students concerned with their own alcohol or drug use, or the use of a friend or loved one. Our services include developing a plan of support, identifying campus/community resources, and exploring risk reduction.

Respondent Services

The SSAC provides confidential services to student respondents in the University’s Title IX process.

Stay Mason

Stay Mason funding is not a scholarship; it is a one-time emergency assistance grant. Funding is not guaranteed and is not meant to provide long-term or full tuition relief.

Survivor Support

The SSAC provides confidential supportive services to student victims and survivors of all forms of Sexual and Interpersonal Violence as well as serving as a linkage to campus and community resources.

Single Stop

Single Stop connects students to an array of federal, state, and community benefits and resources using an online screening tool.
