SSAC staff is available to consult with any member of the Mason community about alcohol or drug issues, sexual health, nutrition, stress management, or interpersonal violence issues such as stalking, intimate partner violence or sexual assault. SSAC provides referrals and connects students with the appropriate campus and local resources.
SSAC staff provides individual support including short-term interventions with students who have alcohol or drug concerns, or have experienced interpersonal violence. Finally, SSAC supports survivors of interpersonal violence with:
- Advocacy for students on academic or housing concerns
- Aid in reporting or seeking medical, psychological, legal and judicial resources
In addition to individual support, SSAC runs several support groups, including one for sexual assault survivors and another for students seeking to reduce their substance use.
